Safety & Security

We are so glad you are choosing to trust us with the care of your children! Here are some details to help your family.

Allergies & Special Needs

Please notify us of ANY and ALL allergies, medical, or behavioral special needs so we can best help your children. For your convenience, we provide Veggie Straws/Goldfish for snacks in Nursery/PreK. If your child has any severe allergies, please request an allergy sticker from the check in desk. This will ensure every volunteer is aware of your child’s need.

Check-In & Safety

In order to provide the safest environment for your children while in our care, we follow a strict check-in process with matching parent and child stickers as well as security in the building.

Paging System

We have a system in place where teachers can send you a text message from the classroom. Please keep your phone on vibrate where you can feel it. This hardly every happens though!

Background Screening

All Parkview Kids volunteers over the age of 18 are background-checked and trained before serving in your children’s classrooms. It is not legal to background-check minors in Idaho. No volunteer (minor or adult) should ever be alone with children. It is our policy to always have 2 volunteers with children at all times.

Wellness Policy

The following list of symptoms to determine if a child will be admitted to our classrooms:

Persistent coughing, sneezing, runny nose (not clear) or eyes, stomachache/vomiting, earache, diarrhea, fever (100 degrees; must be fever free for 24 hours), or rash (except diaper rash).

Our desire is to protect all children and volunteers from exposure to illness. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a healthy ministry environment.

Restroom/Diaper Changing

Diaper changing will only be done by an adult female volunteer and in the presence of another adult (never behind a closed door). If you would prefer that your child's diaper NOT be changed by a volunteer at all, let us know and we will add it to their name tag. If they need a diaper change that can't wait, you will receive a text message.

The PreK Room is not furnished with a changing table. Your child does not have to be potty-trained before they turn 3. Please just know that they will not be changed if they are in a diaper or pull-up.

When young children are taken to the restroom, they are given as much privacy as possible. The volunteer will stand in the hall doorway. Volunteers will enter the restroom only when absolutely necessary to assist a preschool child, leaving the stall door open. If this happens, a second volunteer will stand nearby so the child is never alone with a volunteer. Only an adult female will assist a preschool child.
