Simeon & Anna: “Those Who Wait Upon the Lord Will Never Be Disappointed

Simeon and Anna were devoted servants of God who had spent their lives waiting faithfully for the Messiah. Their patience and devotion were rewarded when Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple. Simeon exclaimed in Luke 2:29-32, “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations.”

Anna, a prophetess, gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. Their stories remind us that God honors faithfulness and patience. Those who wait upon the Lord will witness His promises fulfilled.
