When the angel appeared to the shepherds in the fields, it was a message full of hope and peace. Shepherds were considered lowly and often overlooked by society, yet God chose them to witness the birth of His Son. Luke 2:10-11 declares: “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
The shepherds’ story teaches us that God values hearts that are humble, faithful, and ready to respond to His call. He doesn’t choose people because of status or wealth, but because of faith and willingness to share His love.
At Parkview Christian Church in Meridian, we reflect on how God calls ordinary people to participate in extraordinary moments. As we approach Christmas, let’s remember that His favor rests on those who seek Him sincerely.
Join us Sundays at 10 AM to worship, hear God’s Word, and celebrate the story of Jesus’ birth together as a community of faith.
